Rudy Davis & Sienna Lawrence Take Out The 2024 Quiksilver/Roxy East Coast Classic

Published on 27/04/2024

Scamander/Tasmania( Saturday, April 27th/2024): Scamander River mouth made both Rudy Davis and Sienna Lawrence feel right at home today, producing conditions very similar to what the pair surf at their home breaks around South Arm and Clifton Beach.

Davis’s clean and critical work in the pocket proved too strong for east coast veteran Dustin Hollick, who had looked the man to beat in the early rounds. Come the Open Men’s Final Davis had well and truly hit his straps, nailing a 14.40 point heat total to just pip Hollick( 13.27 points) at the post. Finishing in third and fourth respectively was 2023 winner Benn Richardson and Harrison Garlick.

In the Open Women’s Final, Lawrence came out all guns blazing with a 6.03 point first ride, followed up by an even better score of 7.43 point. Amelie Brown came through in second place ( 6.84 point total), with Ava Carlton ( 4,74 points) and North Coaster Bo Ellis (4.07 points) coming in fourth and fifth, under a point separating the two.

In the Junior divisions it was Open Women’s Finalist Bo Ellis taking out the Under 18 Girls Title and Cowan Duncan victorious in the Under 18 Boys. Other standout performers were Duke Armstong ( Under 14 Boys Winner with a 12.16 point heat total) and Jessica Gardner with a big win in the Under 16 Girls ( 15.50 point heat total).
