2023 Women In Waves Day A Smash Hit At Clifton Beach

Published on 15/01/2023

The carpark and beach at Clifton Beach was packed on Saturday 14th January for the 2023 Women in Waves Day with the legendary Seven-Time World Champion Layne Beachley surfing with a stoked group of Women and girls who alternated between yoga sessions on the sand and surf lessons with Coastrider Surf School and Layne Beachley in the water.

After beach activities wrapped up the large group had a healthy lunch whilst mingling at the Clifton Beach Surf Club before heading upstairs for a panel session that included Tasmanian royalty Dara Penfold and Layne Beachley just to name a few.

Layne took questions from the crowd after panel discussion and told a spine-tingling story of fifty foot waves ridden in Hawaii and how she mentally and physically prepared for such a moment.

When official proceedings wrapped up, participants got autographs and pictures with Beachley and husband Kirk Pengilly of INXS fame.
