The 2026 Red Herring Pro-Am delivered an action-packed Australia Day long weekend at Eaglehawk Neck, with some of Australia’s top surfers and emerging junior talent battling it out for national ranking points, prize money and event honours.
As a Surfing Australia 5,500 National Rankings event, the Red Herring Pro-Am attracted a strong field of competitors across the Open and Junior divisions. With $2,000 plus prize packs on offer for the Open Men’s and Open Women’s champions, $1,000 for the Under 18 Boys and Girls winners, and $500 for the Under 16 divisions, the competition produced plenty of high-quality surfing throughout the weekend.
In the Open Men’s division, Eden Hasson claimed the title ahead of runner-up Taj Air, while Mia Macmahon took out the Open Women’s division with Sarah Seuren finishing in second place.
The junior divisions showcased the next generation of Australian surfing talent. Bowie Robinson secured victory in the Under 18 Boys final over Taj Air, while Lani Cairncross claimed the Under 18 Girls title ahead of Mia Macmahon.
The Red Herring Pro-Am once again highlighted the depth of surfing talent from around the country and reinforced Eaglehawk Neck’s reputation as one of Tasmania’s premier competition venues. With excellent performances across all divisions and valuable national ranking points on the line, the event delivered an outstanding weekend of surfing.
