Code of Conduct (Students, Parents and Officials) – This competition will be conducted under the School Sport Australia code of conduct. Which can be viewed by following the following link: http://www.schoolsport.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Codes-of-Coduct-May-20161.pdf

Event Format

Age Groups

Under 19 on 31st December 2023 born in 2005 or later ( usually grade 12 to grade 10)

Under 16 on December 31 2023 born in 2008 or later ( usually grade 9 or younger)

Division 1 – This division is for competitors who can traverse a wave and perform various manoeuvres. Be able to duck dive and feel confident in up to 1.8 metre face waves. Surfers will represent their school in pairs in a tag-team format.

We are looking for the best pair of surfers from the one school in each of the four divisions. Please put your best surfers in your team regardless of whether they are in grade 7 or 9.

MR Teams Format:

Under 19 Boys Under 19 Girls

Under 16 Boys Under 16 Girls

If your school only has one surfer enter them as an individual and they will be paired with another surfer from the same Region, or just another surfer. These individuals still have a chance to represent the state because we also send the best two individuals away in each division as an Allstar team.

A school can enter a maximum of 2 teams. As in previous years if there are insufficient team entries in the girls we will run a different format for them so they get two surfs.

Time is a limiting factor at the event.

Schools enter teams of 2 students. The team of 2 students surf against another school’s team of 2. Each surfer’s best two waves contribute to the teams score. The team with the highest total from the 4 waves wins.

The teams have to lose twice to be eliminated from the competition.

The best two heats of individual scores will be used to calculate the Allstar champions of the day.
