Lawrence & Renwick Win 2025 Quiksilver & Roxy East Coast Classic

FOUR MILE CREEK/TASMANIA (Monday, 9th June/2025): After kicking off in large overhead waves at South Shelly on Saturday, this year’s Quiksilver Roxy East Coast Classic wrapped up today at South Four Mile Creek in smaller, cleaner conditions.

Sienna Lawrence ( Clifton Beach) carried her form from the earlier rounds into the Open Women’s Final, posting a massive 9-point ride on her first wave of the four-women battle. She then backed it up with a 7-point wave to comfortably take the win over Neighbour Poppy Woodberry(2nd place), North West shredder Bo Ellis(3rd) and another Clifton Beach stand-out in young Jessica Gardner in fourth.

Coming fresh off his massive West Coast Classic win, Hamish Renwick made it a clean sweep for southern surfers in the Open Men’s Final, besting good mate Rudy Davis, young gun Xavier Brooks and the North West’s former state junior team member Joe Pugh.

Renwick produced the same surfing that in years gone by has seen him win National Junior Titles. A huge backhand air sealing the deal for the big man from South Arm Boardriders Club on a left-hand set wave. Davis, normally the man to beat in the smaller conditions, was left needing two scores in the dying minutes, and in many other heats, the two seven-point rides he produced would have got the job done. However, Renwick had piled a ton of pressure on his fellow competitors with his first two scores (8.17 points and 9.67 points), totalling a massive 17.84 points. It was not to be for Davis, Xavier Brooks and Joe Pugh.

Other division winners included Duke Armstrong ( Under 18 Boys), Poppy Woodberry (Under 18 Girls), Tully Woodberry (Under 16 Boys), Lola Reid ( Under 16 Girls), Hudson Direen( Under 14 Boys), Neve Andrews ( Under 14 Girls) and Llyr Johannesen (Under 12’s Combined).

The elder divisions were won by Luke Johannesen( Over 40 Men), Hamish Renwick (Over 30 Men) and Kim Gibson ( Over 50 Men).
