QUIKSILVER ROXY EAST COAST CLASSIC GOES DOWN AT DARK HOLLOW.The 2022 #Quiksilver#Roxy East Coast Classic presented by #Redherringsurf was run and won in beautiful summer sunshine at Dark Hollow Beach at Beaumaris yesterday. After initial doubts about the swell the event kicked off in small contestable conditions early morning and finished with the Quiksilver Roxy Expression Session by lunchtime. The Open Mens final was a very tight heat with limited waves that worked through from the back bank to shore break but Noah Hassett found the connections and won his first Open Title from Matt Kennedy.Former State Women Champ Luca Brodribb continued her winning way with another strong performance in difficult conditions. All competitors lined up for the Quiksilver Roxy Expression Session with a custom Roxy Surfboard and 2 x $250 prizes were up for grabs thanks to event sponsors. Local Simon Pugh won the Best Manouvre and Toby Lawrence the Best Wave prizes. Nellie Strickland was the lucky winner of the Roxy Custom surfboard. This year COVID19 affected the wider surfing community in many ways resulting in lower but enthusiastic numbers this year. Many thanks to the great supporters #Eastcoastsurfsth#thesurfside Hotel at Beaumaris and volunteers who assisted in making this great event happen. Special thanks to Andrew Davis and Mario Agius from NEBR for doing all the behind the scenes work to make the event happen.
