Quiksilver & Roxy East Coast Classic Wraps Up STAS State Series in Perfect Winter Conditions

Published on 26/06/2026

The 2026 Quiksilver & Roxy East Coast Classic delivered an epic weekend of surfing on Tasmania’s East Coast, with Dark Hollow turning on two days of clean, contestable surf, offshore winds and classic East Coast vibes to close out the STAS State Round series.

Surfers from across Tasmania converged on the East Coast for the final State Round of the season, with valuable championship points and State Title placings on the line. A summer-like feel in the middle of winter provided the perfect backdrop for high-performance surfing across all divisions.

In the marquee divisions, Toby Lawrence claimed the Open Men’s title, while Bo Ellis took top honours in the Open Women’s division after standout performances throughout the event.

A standout feature of the weekend was the depth of Tasmania’s boardriding community, with every Tasmanian boardriders club represented on the podium and each club securing at least one division victory.

The event also featured the Under 21 division and inaugural Super Grom Session, supporting the next generation of Tasmanian surfers with new pathways and inclusive competition formats.

The event concluded with presentations at the Scamander Beach Resort, hosted by North East Boardriders, bringing together competitors, families, volunteers and supporters to celebrate another successful East Coast Classic.

Surfing Tasmania thanks all event partners, volunteers, officials and the wider East Coast community for their ongoing support.
