Clifton Beach/Tasmania( Thursday, October 26th/2023): The forecast looks like a cracker heading into this weekend’s Woolworths Surfer Groms Comps Tasmanian leg at Clifton Beach.
Saturday looks like producing chest high to overhead waves coupled with light to moderate offshore winds for more than thirty of not only Tasmania’s, but the country’s best young surfers to showcase their skills.
“The forecast is looking great at this stage. We have a sunny looking day with all the elements aligning nicely for a great day of junior surfing at Cliffy,” said Surfing Tasmania’s joint Events Manager Luke Johannesen.

Action will kick off from approximately 8am this Saturday 28th of October.
The Woolworths Surfer Groms Comps cater for the mini, mirco groms (U/8) to the big kids alike (U/14) of any level, and is all about providing a fun, but competitive environment.
As an added bonus, the respective winners of the Under 14 boys’ and girls’ divisions from each event will receive an invite to attend an all-expenses-paid, three-day Woolworths Surfer Groms Comps National Final Surf Camp, (2-day coaching clinic, 1 day of competition and heat analysis coaching) at the Surfing Australia High-Performance Centre (HPC). For the South Australian, Victorian and Tasmanian events, the Woolworths Surf Camp prize will be awarded to the highest place Under-14 Boy and Girl who reside in that respective State.
